The Simone de Beauvoir Institute, in collaboration with Harambec, is pleased to present the second annual Dr. Esmeralda Thornhill Black Feminist Speaker Series.
This series is the result of an ongoing collaboration between Harambec and the Simone de Beauvoir Institute, aimed at highlighting Black feminist perspectives and voices.
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6 PM, Dr. Aida Bueno Sarduy will deliver a lecture titled “Barracoon Feminism and Black Women’s Gaze: An Afrocentric Lens on Biographical References.” This event will be followed by a screening of the short documentary Guillermina 🎥, alongside the international launch of the audiovisual work Joaquina de Angola and the introduction of the feature film Anna Borges do Sacramento.
